Today Holy Angels School joined thousands of schools across the country who took part in the National School Walkout to end gun violence. Our school held an age appropriate assembly that centered on prayer and a call to action. At 10 am, the student council led the school in prayer. A "walking" rosary around the school grounds was planned, but because of the weather, the rosary was broadcast and students prayed in their classrooms. In her speech at the parents' spring meeting last night, Sister Leonarda said that Catholic schools are built on strong communities. It is important that during events like the Stoneman High School shooting, we demonstrate the strength of our school communities by joining together in prayer and following it up with a call to action.
