Holy Angels School is a welcoming school that accepts children of all races, color, national or ethnic origin and diverse religious background.
Our students are 21st Century Learners who
• use technology as a tool for learning and communication from Kinder to Grade 8
• integrate art, music and dance in all subject areas
• learn algebra in a variety of formats that meet each child’s learning style
The IOWA Test of Basic Skills is given at the beginning of each school year to all students attending Catholic schools nationwide. Holy Angels School is very proud of the fact that for the past six years each grade level has achieved scores above the national average (some significantly) in the Core and Composite Totals. The Core Total consists of the average scores of Reading, Language and Math sections, while the Composite Total is an average of the entire test. Our 2011-2012 graduating 8th grade class received a Core Total of 10.5 (knowledge determined to be at mid 10th grade level) and a Composite Total of 9.8 (knowledge determined to be at end of 9th grade level) this year. Last year’s graduating class achieved a Core Total 10.4 and Composite Total of 10.0. We feel our Holy Angels graduates are well prepared for the next step in their academic life.

The school offers art, choir, band lessons, and Liturgy in Motion dance classes after school as well as athletics through the Daly City Recreation Department and CYO programs. Students can play volleyball, flag football and basketball. Parents and former students volunteer to coach the sports teams.
A mobile lab with 40 laptops were purchased in 2003 and recently updated in 2011. Teachers use computers to integrate technology in all subject areas in their classrooms. The computer teacher collaborates with teachers in developing lesson plans that help students gain 21st century skills. Recent additions to the school are the Peace Garden and the Playhouse Science Lab.
The Peace Garden is a living laboratory where students experience the cycle of living plants from seed to harvest and observe how we effect our environment. Classes had a chance to plant vegetable seeds, watch them grow and then plant them in the garden. In September 2011 the California Fertilizer Foundation awarded the school a $1,200 grant to support our Peace Garden.
The playhouse science lab designed by SEA Construction Company in San Mateo and the Hayes Design Group was given to the school in September 2011.

Many alumni return to visit the school. Some classes have reunions - tour the school, go to Mass together, and then have dinner at a nearby restaurant. An alumni/family picnic is held once a year on school grounds to get all the alumni together for fun and chatter.
